John describes his organization as "a sales and marketing organization that specializes in risk-based planning that helps to eases clients' minds." John believes clients deserve a trusted advocate who aids in implementation of both a plan and strategy and more importantly, to help to mitigate their concerns, not only the ones that are easy in underwriting. John is proud to state that the McTigue Financial Group was the top network office in the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network for 2005. The McTigue Legacy "Because of my father's association with Northwestern Mutual, I realized early on that the food on the table, the roof over my head and my college education were due to Northwestern Mutual and in part, from the overrides my father received for bringing people into this career and business." John is proud to speak of the success his father had, "In spite of living in a town of 2,000, Dad was able to raise and develop 13 Million Dollar Round Table producers in that small community." "I have 13 immediate and extended family members associated with the great life, livelihood and legacy of our life insurance business in Northwestern Mutual." John began his career with Northwestern Mutual as a special agent in 1980. He was a district agent, and qualified for the Top of the Table in 1990 consistently producing over 100 lives. His life experiences have brought home to him a strong commitment to his industry and the value of permanent life insurance. As a young man, John suffered the loss of three close friends who died in their 30s. Because of his persistence, their families received more than $4.1 million in death benefits. John describes the affect on those families: "$4.1 million to three families allowed them to retain their homes, provide college educations for their children and retain their dignity. I am proud to say not one of them brought insurance up, not one wanted to talk about it. But that's what we do, who we are, and it's a special calling. If I had only talked about what they wanted, I wouldn't have lived up to my responsibility and the dreams for their families wouldn't have lived on. That's why I am who I am. A life story created, nurtured and grown around the impact of an industry, and impact of this incredible asset known as life insurance." John and his wife, Vanessa have three children. Reflecting on his career with Northwestern Mutual, John adds: "It's been a life I never would have imagined. Shortly after I got out of college, my Dad told me and my two brothers, do not expect an inheritance. If you do you will be sorely disappointed. He said however I will give you three gifts: A good name, a college education, and I'll teach you to work harder than just about anybody else.
