If life experience is a good teacher, Ted Sangalis has a solid education.
Prior to his career as a financial representative with the McTigue Financial Group, Ted started off in New York City and spent a total of six years in a sales capacity.
Ted was tired of corporate bureaucracy and of not being paid proportionate to one's value. He decided to venture into a career that paid him in direct proportion to his efforts. He transitioned to this career for a number of reasons, one of which was not that his father was a financial representative.
Ted explains why he chose the Network over other financial service companies: "In my mind what distinguishes Northwestern Mutual Financial Network is the quality of the products, the quality of the corporate office, and the quality of the financial representatives. We definitely deal with some of the best clientele and attract some of the best people for the career. Additionally, a job with the Network is not a jobit is a career.
Ted credits the opportunity to apply his core values each and every day to the people he enjoys serving as another reason for choosing the Network. Those core values are honesty and doing what's right for the client.
"I enjoy the responsibility of helping people succeed financially, and the aspects of my career that I appreciate most are the ability for me to run my own day and for the most part speak to the people I enjoy speaking with. What I learned about myself since I began with The McTigue Financial Group is that I am a very focused, results-driven person, type A you might say."
Ted says the secret to success in making Forum is a great work ethic, a strong focus and a drive to achieve results.
Continuing education is a must to remain successful as a financial representative. Ted explains, "Our products are continually evolving, and markets are continually changing, so ongoing training is critical. And whether we've been in the business four years or 40, we are all looking to provide value to the client. That obliges financial representatives to be well-versed in the basic productslife, disability and long-term care insuranceand, if they want to add extra value, they need the ability to move into annuities and retirement products."
Ted Sangalis has been married to Lesa for 18 years. They have two children, Dean and Lauren. He enjoys golf, tennis, racquetball, coaching his son's baseball team, which he's done for six years, andbelieve it or notyard work. He is a member of Alleluia Lutheran Church in Naperville, Illinois.
