Thomas Walder was selected as a winner for a Community Service Award for his outstanding contribution to the McGaw YMCA in Evanston, IL. "As a company, we encourage our financial representatives to give back to the communities in which they work," said Ed Zore, President & CEO of Northwestern Mutual. "That's why we offer programs such as the Community Service Award to recognize our representatives for their dedicated community service." A $10,000 grant was presented to the McGaw YMCA from the Northwestern Mutual. In accepting his award, Tom offered the following comments: "I grew up in the Y and now as an adult it's wonderful to be able to be a part of the organization. I am very involved in the mentoring program and try to engage the community into mentoring and being a positive role model for these kids. The money we received from the Northwestern Mutual Foundation will go to funding Project SOAR—our one-on-one youth mentoring program." |
