In 2006, Steve Braun celebrated 20 years of service with Northwestern Mutual Financial Network and The McTigue Financial Group. Steve joined the network office in 1986 and was awarded Representative of the Year for The McTigue Financial Group in 1993 and 2003.
Managing Partner, John McTigue offers these comments about Steve: "In an era when Financial Representatives come and go, Steve has shown amazing stability, because he learned early in his career that to succeed in this business he had to earn a client's trust, understand a client's needs, and put a client's interests first to design appropriate, individualized solutions. Steve describes himself as a true generalist. He leverages the strength of the network office and provides his clients with all the services offered from basic life insurance to investments. What distinguishes Steve is his dedication to lifelong learning. He believes his extremely high level of integrity and his client-first focus has enabled him to reach Forum status.
Steve considers himself the premier marketer. He is one of the most organized individuals in the network. He saves his client's time and energy by pulling together a well-organized and disciplined analysis. Steve instills discipline with his clients and insists that they pay themselves first. He is resourceful. While he clearly does not have all the answers his clients trust that he will find the answer.
Steve has earned numerous award throughout his career, including the National Sales Achievement Award (1988, 1991-20087), the National Quality Award (1989-1990, 1992-2008) and Million Dollar Round Table (Provisional Member 1990; Qualifying Member 1991-1998; Qualifying/Life Member 1999-2008).
Steve is a past president and board member of Northwestern Mutual's Financial Representatives Association (FRA). The FRA "represents the interests of financial representatives in an organized way that is consistent with the interests of the Northwestern Mutual policyowners."
He is a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, Greater North Shore Estate Planning Council, Association of Advanced Life Underwriters, and has served on Northwestern Mutual's Financial Representative Association Board.
Steve has been an active board member of The Entrepreneurship Institute for the past year and has been involved with the organization for 16 years. The Entrepreneurship Institute is a national, non-profit company providing strategies and practical solutions for corporate leaders.
He is active in his community, working with The City of Hope, Goldman Philanthropic Partnerships, Glenwood School for Boys and Girls, and the Marty Hennessy Jr. Tennis Foundation.
Steve resides in Highland Park with his wife, Karen and children, Lauren and David. He enjoys theatre, tennis, camping, photography and golf.
