Joe Albrecht was an Estate Planning Attorney for a small Chicago downtown law firm. He was spending too many hours working and wanted to start his own law practice.
He planned to return to school and earn his master's of law in tax when he received a call from Deborah Holter, recruiter for the McTigue Financial District Network Office in Northbrook. Joe agreed to meet with her.
As a client of The McTigue Financial Group, Joe loved working with his financial representative but really didn't know what he did. Joe figured networking with Deborah would be good for his future plans.
After numerous conversations, Joe decided to give it a shot. He has been a financial representative since 2004.
Joe talks about his experience with the career and offers some advice:
"The Network distinguishes itself with its process and focus on risk-based solutions, having those difficult conversations first. It provides expectations for what you need to do to secure your financial future."
"I made Rookie of thee Year for the McTigue Financial Group Network office. My next two goals are qualifying for Million Dollar Round Table and earning my Certified Life Underwriter (CLU) designation."
"The career has its ups and downs. I enjoying working with people and building my own business. It can be discouraging when you realize you sometimes care more about people than they care about themselves. It can be a battle to get them to take action."
"I am much more of a risk taker than I thought. I made this career change with two kids and a stay at home wife. Failure is and was not an option for me. I had very important people counting on me."
"If you want independence and the ability to provide for your family in ways that are unimaginable, this is one of the best financial services organizations in Chicago. It's an awesome opportunity."
